welcome to the company that puts the art back into comics Kamikaze Press is a small ashcan comic book company located in Auburn Hills Michigan. We are proud to be independantly owned and growing in numbers every day. We attend various conventions throughout the year, so if you're one of those readers who is interested in the actual art of comic creating and not just some guy with a cape who doesn't use the bathroom, Kamikaze Press is the company for you.
Founded by John Rice (Author of Society), SunKid (Artist for Society and Disgruntled teens, as well as many other Midnight Metro projects), Stan Chelsea (Author and creator of Disgruntled Teens), and John Sapelack (Co-Artist of Society and writer of Chronicles, and Captains Chair), Kamikaze press tries to breath new air into the superhero ridden world of comic books.

We here at the press decided that we were bored with the concept of comedy in books that just wasn't funny, action just for actions sake and plot lines that fell extremely short of interesting and were just downright predictable.

They say every story has a logical beginning and an end, and we believe that to be true. That's why all of our books WILL end at some point, a point we've already accounted for. Some of our characters are bound to die, but we promise you the reader that THEY WILL STAY DEAD! One of the biggest problems we see in the industry is predictability, with Kamikaze Press, there is no absolute.

When we say we put the art back in comics, we mean it. Our books are done in as many different media as possible, ranging from watercolor, to red ink washes. No boring squares here, our parent company chairperson once said "I think squares should be outlawed... who wants that monotany and restriction?" and we believe that to be true. We firmly strive for the goal of the truly different comic and I'm proud to say that there is NO comic out there like a Press comic.

Society, a very difficult comic to describe indeed. Ok, imagine combining Pulp Fiction and a John Grisham novel together into a comic book and there you go. Crammed full of confusing metaphors for everyday life and superheroes that aren't really concerned with being super. Sick of the everyday... then this ones for you

    -Artist: SunKid
    -Writer: John Rice

A little bit about the titles we offer...
In the mood for something funnier? Welcome to the world of the Disgruntled Teens... a place where an aborted fetus can run rampant, free to terrorize the city. Who will be there to stop him? Well, nobody really, but I guess Seiko, Natsu, Yuriyoko, and Toji can't annoy him enough to slow him down.
From the demented mind of Stan "Chels Maru" Chelsea, comes a saga of comedy about 6 teenagers and their very UNordinary lives. Check it out
